How do these products work?
Both lignin and asphalt products work best when sprayed uniformly in the proper mixture, temperature, and quantities. The spray droplets encapsulate the dust particles, making them too heavy to fog up. Traffic can then compact the particles into a harder surface.
How much does it cost?
Costs will vary depending on a variety of factors. Usually, a single asphalt spray application is about 10 cents per square foot. We gladly provide free consultations and proposals.
How long does it last?
Dust is often thought to be a summer-only problem. But mud is formed during rainy periods and, after a couple of dry days, the mud turns into dust. Choosing the right product mix and application can reduce problems throughout the year. Light residential traffic normally requires one application at the beginning of summer. Heavy truck roads and yards often require more than one application.
What do I need to do to prepare my road?
A mixture of gravel and dirt is the most common road surface material. But an underlayment of compacted larger rock is needed to provide a solid road base. The surface needs to be graded for slope and crown to drain away excess water; this prevents potholes from forming. Compaction is needed for strength.
